THE PILGRIM'S GUIDE

Preparing for Your Journey to ONAYA

Welcome, Pilgrim.

A sacred journey begins long before you arrive at the mountain.
This guide has been created to help you prepare for your journey to ONAYA: Healing in the Himalayas and to ensure your travels are as smooth, comfortable, and supported as possible.
We look forward to welcoming you to Himachal Pradesh, India for a 6 Night / 7 Day pilgrimage of remembrance, reflection, and renewal.

YOUR JOURNEY TO ONAYA

Step 1: Arrive in India

Most international travelers will arrive at:
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL)
New Delhi, India
We recommend arriving at least one day before the group departure to allow time for rest and
travel adjustments.

Step 2: Travel to Chandigarh

Participants will then take a domestic flight from:
New Delhi (DEL)
to
Chandigarh Airport (IXC)
This flight is not included in the retreat package.

Step 3: Overnight Stay

Because participants arrive from many different countries and flight schedules vary, we
recommend staying overnight near Chandigarh Airport before group departure.
Recommended hotel options will be provided upon registration.

Step 4: Group Departure

ONAYA transportation will depart from the designated Chandigarh meeting location.
Departure Time:
10:00 AM
Please arrive at least 30 minutes early.
Late arrivals may need to arrange private transportation.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Passport

Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

Visa Requirements

Most travelers will require an Indian Tourist Visa.

Please verify requirements based on your country of residence.

Apply well in advance of travel.

RECOMMENDED TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

Coverage should ideally include:
• Trip interruption
• Flight delays
• Medical coverage
• Emergency evacuation
• Lost baggage

Travel insurance provides peace of mind and protection throughout your journey.

ALTITUDE & HEALTH PREPARATION

The Himalayas invite us into a different rhythm.
Many participants will be visiting higher elevations than they are accustomed to.
To support your experience:
• Stay well hydrated before arrival
• Limit alcohol before travel
• Prioritize rest
• Bring any required medications
• Consult your physician if you have health concerns

Most participants adjust comfortably, especially when properly hydrated and rested.

WHAT TO PACK

Clothing
November temperatures can be cool, especially in the mornings and evenings.
Please bring:
• Warm layers
• Light jacket
• Sweater or fleece
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Hat and scarf
• Rain layer (recommended)

Ceremony Attire

Participants are invited to bring:
White clothing for sacred ceremonies
White attire is not required at all times but will be used during designated ceremonial
experiences.
